A situation often arises when the refrigerator has to be transported in a horizontal position, which is categorically not recommended by manufacturers, but sometimes is the only possible option. Immediately after you bring the unit into the apartment, the most important question arises: when can you plug the plug into the socket and start the compressor?
Hasty in this matter can cost you expensive repairs or even a complete replacement compressor. During tilting and shaking, the oil in the system penetrates into circuits where it should not be. If you start the engine right away, it will run dry or try to push the hydraulic plug out of the oil, which will cause the piston group to jam. That is why the pause before the first start is a critically important procedure that cannot be ignored.

Physics of the process: why you can’t turn it on right away
To understand the need to wait, you need to look inside the structure. At the bottom of the refrigerator there is compressorwhich is essentially a pump. Its crankcase contains special compressor oil, which is necessary to lubricate rubbing parts and remove heat. In the normal, vertical position, this oil is located below, under the piston group, and does not interfere with the operation of the refrigerant.
