Modern units often use tapered compressors, which are also suitable, but may be less durable under heavy use. Make sure that the motor is in good working order: when connected to the network, it should hum confidently and create a noticeable air flow at the outlet pipe.

For assembly you will need not only the compressor itself, but also a number of additional materials. The basis of the design will be a receiver - a container for storing compressed air. Old fire extinguishers, gas cylinders or even housings from car shock absorbers are often used as a receiver.
